How I Fell Into Building a Nail Network

I didn’t set out to start a network. I didn’t even plan to become a nail tech, if I’m being honest. I fell into it — the same way I fell into building this community. I started doing nails in August 2024, completely new, overwhelmed, and constantly second-guessing myself. I loved the creative side, but navigating the business end? That part felt isolating. Pricing, policies, clients, boundaries… all of it was new. I had so many questions. So, like most of us do, I went searching for support. I looked for an Irish community, a space where nail techs could talk honestly about the challenges, the wins, and the weird client messages at midnight. But there wasn’t anything. Not unless you could afford expensive memberships, and at that point in my career, I simply couldn’t.
My Journey into Nail Tech
All I really wanted was a small group. Just some nail techs I could chat with, maybe meet up with, and share thoughts and tips without judgment. So, I put out a message — asking if anyone else felt the same. I expected a handful of replies. What I got was dozens. Then hundreds. People who were also feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or just… alone.
Building Connections
So, I started a group chat. Nothing fancy. There was no plan to scale or “build a brand.” But it grew. Fast.
I remember the first night of the group chat. It was chaos. There had to have been ten conversations happening at once in each chat. I remember sitting with my partner in silence, both realizing that this was something major. That little chat turned into conversations. Those conversations turned into meetups, DMs, collaborations, and even friendships.
The Industry's Need
And that’s when I realized: This wasn’t just something I needed. This was something the industry needed. The Irish Nail Network was never meant to be a business. It’s built on connection. On people coming together to help each other, laugh, rant, share, and grow.
What We Stand For
No gatekeeping — we share what we know.
No ego — everyone is learning.
No pressure — come as you are.
Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been in the industry for years, there’s space for you here.
What’s Next for Us
We’re building something powerful now:
A platform for Irish nail techs.
Free and affordable member options.
Events, templates, resources, and masterclasses.
Real support from people who get it.
And the best part? It’s just getting started.
If You’ve Felt Disconnected — This is For You
I created this because I couldn’t find it. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t fit in or that everyone else had it figured out — you’re not alone. We’re all winging it together.
This is your reminder that you do belong in this industry. And that you don’t have to do it alone anymore.
Embrace Your Journey
It’s important to remember that each journey is unique. Becoming a nail tech is a personal adventure filled with learning experiences. You may face many challenges along the way, but those challenges can lead to growth.
The Power of Community
Having a community around you can make all the difference. It’s not just about techniques or business strategies. It's about sharing experiences and knowing that others are in the same boat. This network is a safe space where everyone can express their fears and triumphs without judgment.
Tips to Succeed as a Nail Tech
Stay Curious: Always look for new techniques and trends in the industry.
Connect with Peers: Don’t hesitate to reach out for advice. Collaboration can lead to amazing opportunities.
Set Boundaries: It's essential to know when to say no. Maintain your mental health and work-life balance.
Educate Yourself: Invest in workshops or courses to enhance your skills. Ongoing education is key.
Celebrate Your Wins
Whether it’s mastering a new design or securing a loyal client, celebrate your achievements. Each step forward counts, no matter how small. Your hard work deserves recognition.
